BP @ Salt Lake "Shootout"

Best of Show Photo by Grant Gunderson, Athlete: Bryce Phillips
Pro skiers and photographers converged on the not so sleepy town of Salt Lake City for the inaugural Ski Salt Lake "Shootout". It was a week of shooting and an amazing experience for all involved, including local photog Grant Gunderson and evo's Bryce Phillips:

"Bellingham, Washington-based photographer Grant Gunderson took home the Best in Show Grand Prize and a $4,000.00 check with his mind-blowing shot of Bryce Phillips making a powder turn under star-trailed skies above Little Cottonwood Canyon. Up until 4:30 am the night before the judging deadline, Gunderson spilled the beans about this long sought-after shot. "This shot really means a lot to me due to the fact that so many variables had to come together for it to work. I got the idea for this two years ago, and then it took me about a year to figure out the technicalities of how to make it work, and then another year to get the right combination of conditions. To see the image win Best in Show is hugely satisfying."

evo represents at the Oakley Uprising

Saturday was the Oakley Uprising contest at the Summit. Mr. Chris Shalbot got us on the bill as a cosponsor last minute and Chris, Jake and I worked the event. Oakley is super stoked to work with evo in the future. What does this have to do with the team you ask. Cool your jets man, evo Team riders Ivan Marcinko and Austen Sweetin got first and second in the rail section and then second and first in the Quarter
Pipe. Well that leads to an overall first for Austen are newest team rider. Austen also cleaned up by taking biggest air too.

He is from Lake Forest Park and is 16 at a towering 5 feet high. "Ten"'s current sponsors are evo, Oakley, Ride and Pow gloves and Vitamin Water. Oh wait, we now have 6 year old Keala Cole taking the spot as the newest team rider and he is about 3 feet tall 40 pounds and hails from Edmonds. He had a great showing but does not go as big as 8th graders. Eric B needs to check him out because he is even better on a skate board, a real full season threat (unless you are a really big 8th grader). Well
this did take me over an hour to type so got to go.
