FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Rossignol’s Seven Artistic Sins Limited Edition Freeski Collection Debuts at Blowout Seattle Exhibition Event at
evo
(Salt Lake City, UT) January 7, 2008 – On Saturday, January 5, 2008, hundreds of snow culture aficionados, board sports icons Andy Howell, Steve Caballero and Squindo and a host of Rossignol athletes descended upon Seattle’s renowned retail giant
evo to pay homage to board culture’s most infamous artistic talents and see the first true fusion of ski and board culture at
Rossignol’s Seven Exposed.
More than two years in the making, the unprecedented event marks the global debut of
Rossignol’s Seven Artistic Sins (SAS) Collection, a group of seven limited edition twin tip models pairing the most technologically advanced, athlete-developed product available on the market.
The SAS collection is canvassed with artistic interpretations of the seven sins as imagined by iconic board sport legends Andy Howell, Steve Caballero, Caia Koopman, Mr. Jago, Andrew Pommier, Will Barras and Squindo whose work has covered skateboards, snowboards, surf boards and album covers for much of the last decade.

“Our goal was simple; We wanted to give these artists the recognition they deserve, collectively, they have basically created the visual identity for board culture and they have been behind the scenes for far too long,” said Jason Newell, Director, Sports Marketing & Promotions for Rossignol. “The time has come to put the spot light on these artists – a nod to their individual style and creativity. These artists have shaped the evolution of our sports and created a deep emotional connection with our equipment.”
Seven Artistic Sins marks a new era for Rossignol, leading a charge that will head ski graphics into a new dimension that celebrates the influence of traditional board sport disciplines on the Freeski culture. The result is an important cultural play and new dimension in rideable art to be used by Rossignol’s world class roster including Cody Barnhill, John Spriggs and Kye Peterson, all of whom were in attendance at the launch event.
Guests at the
Seven Exposed event enjoyed an incredible exhibition curated by Jerome Katz of Space Junk, featuring images of the original canvases along side the skis they were translated to. Additionally, Andy Howell painted an original canvas throughout the evening for guests, while Steve Cabellero and Squindo made their way through the massive crowd of revelers. Complimentary top-shelf cocktails flowed freely until the wee hours of the evening under evo’s roof accompanied by a soundtrack from DJs Mat the Alien, Dana D and DJ Vinyl Ritchie.
evo will continue to showcase the art of Andy Howell, Andrew Pommier, Mr. Jago, Squindo, Will Barras, Caia Koopman, and Steve Caballero in their Times Infinity Gallery throughout the month of January.

The Seven Artistic Sins collection will be formally introduced to the global market at the January 2008’s SIA show in Las Vegas, NV to the industry and an ultra limited pre-release of the skis will be available beginning today at
www.evogear.com to lucky collectors.
