"Float" Premeire Recap-izzle!
November 17, 2007 - They say that good friends are like a fine wine....so if i understood that right, what you're saying is that they make everything WAY more fun?! That said, it was awesome to be able to have my friend Erin Valverde Pollard premiere her film "Float" at our shop! With her husband Eric by her side, family, friends, and fellow riders from the film, Erin rolled deep with a large posse and everyone was so chill and there was all kinds of good energy from her whole crew! A great film, good friends, yummy food, art, lots of snow hungry boys and girls, and a crap load of stuff to giveaway pretty much sums up the night....
As described by the Float Crew, "The Float Film project is a rider driven and produced film that focuses upon the level of women's riding today as well as documenting the lifestyle and environment surrounding their snowboarding." Aside from the killer soundtrack, i really appreciated their approach and film style. Shot in 16mm, the cinematography is beautiful and riding shows that the ladies are really giving the guys a run for their money!
Special appearances were made by Erin of course, snowboard legend Barrett Christy and all the way from Japan, Sachi Tanaka! Pay special attention to the photos and you'll probably recognize some of the boys who dropped in to show their leading ladies some support!!

And last but not least to all our sponsors. our friends at Whistler Blackcomb rallied the YUMMY food from Ohana, a popular Hawaiian Restaurant and Sushi bar here in Seattle. Our girl Amanda was on site talking to girls about Whistler's "Women's Week", Edge Cards and oh yeah, did you know that Whistler OPENED the same day as the premiere???! Alongside Whistler, Mamafest "Ride for the Cure" was on site with some rad event apparel and you may have noticed some copies of Future Snowboard magazine floating around? And of course Rossignol Snowboards was there in a big way showing the ladies what they are all about. And to show that they mean business they gave our Grand Prize winner of the raffle a 2008 Women's Rossignol women's snowboard!
