“Thanks Brain” premieres at evo
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON –The NW erupted as Jesse Burtner and the
Think Thank crew unleashed their latest concoction,
“Thanks Brain”to a rowdy crowd of snowboarders at evo this past Saturday, September 22, 2007.

There is nothing quite like that preseason high that you get from a night of movies, raffles, booze and art! As a prelude to what is predicted as yet another killer season, evo opened its door for a movie premier that will go down in history. The Summit at Snoqualmie unveiled its short film alongside a short from
Think Thank. Experimental sounds from Metasax and Drumthings gave the crowd some food for thought. Skate Bananas were drooled over ALL night, and people crawled amongst the shoulder to shoulder shop floor to get a peek at the latest Sticker Sheet release from Spacecraft. Then of course
“Thanks Brain” was mega, but words really can’t describe. For those who made it in you know what we’re talking aboot.

Think Thank is the brainchild of NW shredders Jesse Burtner, Sean Genovese and Christina Burtner. Accompanied by a massive crew of talented filmers, friends, family and fans, the group began their conquest with “Thunk” in 2004. Following up with their smashing sophomore release of
“Cue the Birds” then
“Patchwork Patterns.” This year they’ve shown four is more with
“Thanks Brain.” Featuring um yes, another all star cast, expect to see the likes of Sean Genovese, Lucas DeBari, Brett Butcher, Jesse Burtner, Gus Engle, Nick Visconti, Mark Thompson, Scott Stevens, Dean Barbier, Pat Milbery, Andre Spinelli, Johnny Miller, Ben Bogart, Blair Habenicht, Matt Edgers, and Jed Hoffman.

evo explores the collaboration between culture and sport by seamlessly joining fashion, music, art, and snowboarding. We are simply providing a venue to share what we love. Passion for building community is a driving force; both on a national level with
evogear.com and locally here in
Seattle.

evo's Bryce Phillips takes on South America!
Our dear amigo, companion, friend, and evo visionary Bryce Phillips spent the past couple weeks in South America skiing with the best from K2 and the crews from some of your favorite magazines like Powder, Freeskier, and The Ski Journal. While on his trip he sent the crew back at home an update, check it out:
"Hola evo!
I’m here in sunny Portillo, Chile with the K2 crew. It’s been a lot of fun testing skis, meeting some folks in the industry and discussing how we are going to save skiing and snow sports. Of course it’s not dying but it could use a boost and one focus has been increased participation. It’s definitely what I’m most passionate about and I have been pretty vocal during the 20 person discussions in regards to what we can all do to change the image and make it more affordable.
The crew down here consists of a few reps from the top retailers including Princeton Sports, Paragon, Get Boards and another east coast retailer. The editors from Ski Journal, Skiing, Ski Press, Powder and Freeskier along with Pep Fujas, Seth Morrison and a handful of marketing/sales folks from K2 are also in attendance.
I’m done in Portillo tomorrow and heading to Argentina. I’m not sure i’m skiing but I am heading to Buenos Aires, my favorite city in the world.
I didn’t have specific expectations on this trip but it’s defintely proven to be a really worthwhile event. There’s been some great conversation and contacts made and I can say that evo really gets a lot out of representing at these industry events."
btw:
Check out the famous/infamous “Roca Jack” chair. One of the owners of Princeton sports took his first run on the first day up this lift. He let go, slid backwards and blue his knee. Huge bummer.
