Brian Pratt reports:
"A follow up on my chicken sighting from yesterday:
Being the investigatory person I am, not liking to leave any question unanswered I did some digging into the Seattle pet chicken scene. Firstly what I actually saw was mostly likely a hen. Being ignorant I thought it was a rooster cause it was big, fast and it gave me the stink eye, but roosters generally aren't kept as pets. In my digging I also found out some remarkable facts about chickens.
1. Seattle residents are allowed to keep up to 3 chickens as pets.
2. You can take a class in Seattle, which apparently is standing room only, about how to care for chickens.
3. When I was in Kindergarten my class hatched chicks. I had to take one home one weekend and care for it. It did not die. I called him Hoppy.
4. Having a pet chickens will reduce the number of bugs on your property.
5. Chicken poo is great fertilizer.
6. For $20 dollars you can take a tour of Seattle's chicken coops on July 14th.
So I am sure you are wondering after finding out all these wonderful facts about chickens will I be getting pet chickens? No I will not, I have a fear of any bird bigger than a robin stemming from the time I was seven was chased by a swan at the park, fell and skinned my knee and then it honked at me. But if I did have a chicken I would name him "Little Ricky De Jong" and I wouldn't let Shilo or Steve near it in fear that they would turn it into delicious bbq."

evo SKATE - In Store Skate Jam
On June 23rd we officially kicked off our emergence into the skateboard industry with the first ever instore SKATE event. Half of the store was cleared out and opened up for a spined manual pad that sat 21 inches high off the ground, with a smaller flat manual pad on the side to compliment the mini setup.

The MAYHEM began with James Starlin's switch heel to switch nose wheelie up and over the manual spine. As more and more of the contestants pushed themselves and each other, the skating kept getting better and better.

$5 bills were handed out to those killing the setup and when it was almost all over, those with money in their pockets had qualified for the last round in our first ever In-Store Manual Contest. Starlin shined the whole way through, consistently throwing down combo after combo after combo.

The top three all walked away with a good amount of product that was promo'd out by the following: ZERO, FALLEN, MYSTERY, LAKAI, DVS, MATIX, KROOKED, HABITAT, SPITFIRE, INDEPENDENT, KR3W, CREATURE, VANS, SKULLCANDY and VITAMIN ENERGY.

A complete slide show of the event, along with some video footage will be made available soon.
